Dust Devils dance a macabre dervish

Tumbleweed twists in torment

Ghosts of the Disappeared stalk the streets of Death

Screams of silence fill the graveyard of the Abandoned

Gates creak open with unearthly screams

Come down to the Graveyard

Coffins spill their bone chilling secrets

Built in 1914 and abandoned by 1969, this once thriving mining community of 15000 people lies shrouded in the mists of the Matsuo Mountains, Japan.

For the last four decades the whole surrounding area and the deserted sulphur mining town have become one of the eeriest places on the planet.

Nobody dares enter the area now.

Only the mysterious mists of the mountains haunt these abandoned buildings above and below the ground.

Halloween has arrived…

Beware the lost spirits who slip through the open spaces…

Walk softly near their places of rest…

Do not disturb…

  1. Shrouded in the mists of time; the toil of a choking dust, the memory of a breaking dream – just one more tomb of human debris. An empty vessel left to the ravages of Mother earth and her will, an empty shell echoing a man’s cough, a child’s melodious laughter, a mother’s silently shed tear. Listen closely, do you hear the whispered plea…

  2. The murder was solved. The police caught her killer. He confessed. I told them they were wrong. “He” was still out there. “He” was only biding his time. The breaking of glass in the dark of the midnight bodes – and not well.

  3. The old man warned them, but they didn’t listen. He told them to leave, but they laughed, called him a crazy old fool when he packed his belongings and departed. No one laughed when the mist came off the mountain, not a mist of air and water, but of sulphur and brimstone, yellow and thick. It drove them all mad, even drove some to their death, while some ran from the town screaming. Most were found curled on the ground, faces blank, their minds retreated to a faraway safe place.
